1. San Francisco is an expensive city, and I booked the Hotel Rex for a stay in late June because of its good TripAdvisor reviews and because I found an attractive rate.

3. If you want to stay close to Union Square and at walking distance to Chinatown or Ferry Building (we even walked to Fisherman's Wharf) this hotel represents a good solution, provided you do not expect to find a luxury hotel and you get a good rate.

10. We got the Rex on a deal where we stayed 3 nights and got one night free bringing the price down to a very reasonable rate so I would advise looking into whether you can obtain similar deals.
