Usually, this one is full or the price is through the roof, so we stay at either the Embassy Suites Downtown
Lakefront
, which is also very nice or the Homewood Suites, which isn't as nice, but is also a good hotel.

I used to really like the Embassy Suites Downtown/
Lakefront
, but think I like this Embassy Suites better for the location and the fact that it's a little smaller, and therefore was not as crowded over the long weekend.

You have to get some Garretts Popcorn(the best I've ever had and only about 6 blocks from the hotel), go to the observation deck of the Hancock Building (an absolutely awesome view of the city and
lakefront
and within walking distance of the hotel) and eat at Geno's Pizza.

The nightly manager's reception was great and not as packed as the one I've been too when staying at the Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown/
Lakefront
.

Although the
Lakefront
hotel is closer to Navy Pier if that's important to you, for all other purposes the State Street hotel is probably a better location for most visitors.

The beds were luxurious and comfy, with a view of the
lakefront
a bonus, and the living room and kitchenette very pleasant.
