1. The 'double' room (separate bedroom and living area with bathroom) are all very well appointed and beautifully decorated - and after six years these rooms are still in excellent shape - good value for money.

3. The value for money was good as far as the room rate, but I do wish hotels would make it clear when a tripleroom/suite means the dreaded fold away bed as I wouldn't book it.

5. Obviously they were used to dealing with people where money is not an issue but having been to New York on many occassions previously we were not going to be taken for fools.

6. I left money out one evening and, after being informed by housekeeping, security came to to the room to secure the money until I came back to make sure that there were no issues later on.

We stayed for a 3 night stay in May and I had a few problems before arriving - the concierge 'forgot' to book our table at Gordon Ramsay`s and although I nearly cancelled my room (as I complained via e-mail regarding the restaurant booking and didn`t get a response) it was still the best value for money, and talking with room request was assured that my restaurant booking would be taken care of.

8. I visit Manhattan 6-8 times per year, know the hotel market well and for this money you can do much better.
