1. Positives:*got a huge one bedroom suite on floor 24 - breathtaking view *the suite was absolutely spotlessly clean, with a triple bed which was unbelievably comfy (had a mattress topper on it), it had two bathrooms and two TVs and a large sofa bed*the staff were extremely polite and helpful - particular mention goes to the concierge (Ann I think her name was) who gave us loads of helpful advice about places to eat and how to get to Newark for a hockey game*they happily looked after our luggage when we had checked out*it's about a 10 minute walk to Grand Central Terminal - where, apart from marvelling at its beauty, you can eat in a variety of cafes/restaurants or get a subway train*it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the Newark Airport Express bus stop - really handy*you can walk to Times Square, Broadway and Empire State Building reasonably easilyOther tips:*there's a McDonald's just opposite a little to the right - handy for Wifi or if you're desperate for a late night local snack*decent, reasonably priced breakfast at the Townhouse diner round the corner on 2nd Ave - friendly and attentive staff too*good breakfast at Bloom's Deli on corner of 40th Street *you can get provisions at some nearby supermarkets but I would avoid stores labelled as 'convenience stores' as I reckoned they ripped us off knowing that we were tourists (no prices on anything)*you won't need to take a hairdryer if you're a woman - they have one in the bathroom.

2. Loads of space, a huge sitting/dining room and a fully fitted kitchen where we could throw together breakfasts and snacks - essential for a family like us with two teenage sons that seem to need to eat almost constantly.

6. The Townhouse restaurant, just around the corner, where we had breakfast is very simple, very american but perfect to have whatever you like for breakfast, light or complete with eggs, bacon and pancake.

8. The restaurant was being renovated while I was there but this was not advertised in advance and meant that I had to go looking for breakfast every morning (The Frontier Grill on the next block proved quite good!)The rooms have a small kitchenette so it is possible to self cater if you are prepared but the facilities are dingy and so one doesn't feel inclined to prepare food and eat in.
"Reasonable price for Manhatten but at a big cost! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/4/2011 Vote
9. The room was spacious with just enough of a kitchen we used for breakfast and bringing home leftovers of the excellent meals we had in New York.
