1. If you decide to stay at this hotel during a major event like New Years Eve, the streets in and around the hotel are closed off from 3pm until past midnight (monitored by non too friendly police).

2. We waited from 1 pm, got moved several times by police who were overwhelmed by the number of people and ended up watching the action from 50th street on a big screen.

5. Times Square is a noisy place, but the room start I think on the 11th floor, and you don't hear much of the noise from the street.
