1. The location is great for tourists, if you visiting New York for a second time I would recommend staying further downtown.

2. The location is amazing close to everything, but to find the best places to eat go downtown towards soho, greenwich village for affordable places to eat as the hotel is in midtown, the most touristy area hence most expensive restaurants.

3. Tip 2, as the Staten ferry leaves Manhatten, stay at the back of the boat for some great shots of the downtown skyline.

5. There are subway stops next to Carnegie on 7th and also on the corner of 6th so getting downtown was never a problem.

6. Normally I stay/spend most of my time in lower Manhattan, but with several subway lines within a few blocks in either direction, getting downtown from the Salisbury wasn`t a problem.

7. The ticket sellers have yellow jackets on and a 48 hour ticket allows you to do the Uptown and Downtown loop as well as a river cruise for $49, which is much cheaper than the Grayline.
