5. We were staying with my daughter who is a Marriott employee, using an Associate rate.

6. They reimbursed my card for the fee they had charged, I was glad to get this resolved and think they should have trained the associate better, His attitude to us was that we were there on an employee rate so he did not treat us as well as other guests.

7. I guess I can understand the smaller room and lack of other amenities - the government rate is significantly lower than the rack rate - but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.

8. A number of colleagues stayed at a hotel just a few hundred feet up the Marriott's driveway and were accommodated in a full suite with kitchen and laundry facilities at the same rate (or lower) as the Marriott.
