6. I said as much, to which she said 'well, sometimes we ask for a HELCO bill because some 'mainlanders' keep their Hawaii ID and use it to get the rates.

7. I emailed customer service asking them about kama'aina rates because although I am a local I have an out of state ID from my college days.

8. She told me that the main 'customer service' response is that only a Hawaii ID is required, but that 'it depends on who checks you in, some of the girls here will give you the rate with the HELCO bill.
