1. The other resorts likely have better amenities, rooms, and restaurants, but the Marriot was a much better fit for us and the price (while more expensive than most reosrts on the island) was much cheaper than the Grand Wailea, Four Seasons, or the Fairmont.

2. I though the service was great!- The room (a junior suite) was very nice, very roomy, with nice amenities and I slept like a baby.

3. The concierge provided excellent advice and discounts to some of the islands amenities like Helicopter rides and zip-lining.

Minuses: $30 resort fee doesn't include Internet or any amenities (best I could tell is that it includes self parking in the garage and long-distance calls -- does anybody make long-distance calls from a hotel phone these days?), some of the rooms are in lousy locations near the noisy kid pool or below ground, can be noisy if you are on the ground floor, the pool restaurant is great for lunch for closes (including the bar) at sunset and only the high-end restaurant is open at night.

5. At the Hyatt, the fee included free parking, discounts on all kinds on services and amenities, free internet usage, free laundry facilities and 2 bottles of water left in our room each day.

7. They will!) You'll find the Wailea Marriott a lovely vacation home base, nice resort amenities, and lots to do and see in surrounding areas as long as your have your trusty car rental.

10. On the positive side: The property is beautiful with all the amenities you would expect from a high end hotel in Wailea (some people call it the 'Beverly Hills of Maui').
