1. You can walk all over the resort (both the Vacation Club and the Hilton Hotel), but it's not like there are off-resort options within walking distance.

2. Since the shuttle goes in one counter-clockwise direction, it takes a long time to get back to the HGV from the Hilton hotel, so its often convenient to just walk; or just drive, as HGV guests get a free parking pass at he hotel.

3. It's an easy walk to good dining and a lovely beach, but the pools and activities available at the resort are a lot of fun, too.

4. The main drawback is that this is not water view property; however you are within walking distance to a number of beach areas around the Hilton Hotel and if you are looking for a private secluded beautiful beach there are a number within a 10 - 30 minute drive.

9. From the HGV Kohala suites, you can walk to the Hilton hotel, but the shuttle is convenient to take to the hotel, which is a great place to take kids for a couple of days to enjoy those facilities.
