1. The scenery in this part of the Hill Country is amazing and it is still very close to downtown Austin but you don't feel like it as it seems far removed from the city.

2. Do remember, however, that with Austin's notorious traffic, Barton Creek is nowhere near Downtown, unless you travel by helicopter.
