1. We didn't do any cooking but it was very convenient to stop at the store for snacks and drinks, and it was nice to pick up lunch and eat it back at the condo rather than dining out every single meal.

2. Lunch there is great, and breakfast too although you queue for a while unless you get there around 7am (we turned up at 9am along with the rest of Maui on our visit).

3. Great dining is very close by at Duke's on the beach which is a 5 minute walk on the path plus the best plate lunch in Maui at Ono Kau Kau is just up the street.

The sub-zero fridge, and well-appointed kitchen (all new stainless appliances) all made for efficient and easy use (tip: we stopped in at Costco en route from the airport and stocked up on some easily-prepared meals: at $4.99 for a huge roasted chicken, you can get creative for lots of great lunches and simple dinners.

6. Pacific Whale Foundation has a fun day snorkeling trip to Molokini, nice lunch (sandwiches and fruit) and snorkeling if you are into deep water snorkeling (which I am not, scared me right back onto the boat).
