1. If action is your thing, then you are better off with properties on the other side of the bridge in the 6th street area.

If you're going to Austin to hit stuff downtown like 6th Street or the Convention Center or UT, it is not an easy walk from the Hyatt -- it's a half-mile just to get from the hotel over the bridge and another half-mile to 6th Street, so I would recommend staying somewhere on the other side of the Congress Street Bridge.

6. This Hyatt is located on the south bank of Lady Bird Lake, just off the Congress Street Bridge (home of the world famous bat population).

8. We were told the trail is from 4-12 miles of packed dirt for easy travel and that it is an easy to walk to town over the Congress Street bridge, so you can't beat the location.

9. I am fit and love to walk, but I got lazy that weekend and ended up driving to the action because didn't feel like trekking across the bridge and making the 15-20 min walk to 6th Street.
