1. If you don't want to waste money for not-so-great food in Waikiki (compared with Tokyo or NY), you can cook yourself!(2) The room is huge, equipped with DVD players (there is a free DVD rental service for guests), PS3, and iPhone-compatible stereo.

2. Again, it is difficult to ascertain whether this was the fault of the taxi company or the hotel, but no having a good relationship with a reputable taxi/car service seemed like another example of patchy service.

10. Pros: Leis upon arrival; great customer service at both front desk and concerige; beautiful view at 24th floor oceanview unit; HHV is an amazing facility complete with shops and restaurants; HHV is walking distance to most sights in Waikiki.
