8. I asked about being put on the opposite side facing away from Diamond head to not be over the Mad Dog bar, but was told in a casual remark that the hotel was sandwiched between two nightclubs so there would be noise on either side.

The Aqua Wave is in a perfect spot between the beach and main strip (Kuhio ave) and was much closer to shopping, restaurants, and clubs, than the Hilton and many others except the Sheraton and Pink Palace which we had to walk through their grounds to get to the beach(its a public beach access point) and allowed us to have family fun all day but better yet, while the kids were asleep we could rest assured that they were safe in their room(with 24hr concierge and friendly guest services on hand we did not require an outside babysitting company), while we enjoyed the $2 mai-tais downstairs @ their bar and grill, and other nice bars and clubs practically on our doorstep, as well as the odd fine-dining restaurant for a romantic dinner.

10. It is very central, the bus stop is across the road and there is a very good value bar downstairs, The Big Kahuna, which has delicious food at very reasonable prices.
