1. Just stayed one night at Public - beautiful lobby and restaurant/cafe - but that is where the 'wow' moment stops - tiny room - tiny tiny bathroom - with old fixtures painted over and carpeting that is not soft to the feet.
"It's all lobby - but what a lobby! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/19/2012 Vote
2. Bathroom on the small side - but very functional for a refurbished old hotel.
"Great stay at Public Hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/16/2012 Vote
3. The bathroom was small, but there was a nice sized closet and shelves to store our items.
"Not my kind of place " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/29/2012 Vote
4. Lobby is very grand, but rooms are tiny and bathroom even smaller.
"Inconvience! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/29/2012 Vote
5. Bathroom was small, but I assume that goes for all the room categories in this hotel (the Loft had a small bathroom as well).
"Wonderful! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/24/2012 Vote
6. The room:Modern style, pleasant appearance;Very clean, like-new furnishings; Adjustable window coverings;Very small bathroom, high-end towels but cheap shower curtain that kept blowing in;No bedside clock (only large decorative clock on wall), so use your phone or other device if needed; No other mirrors in the room besides that in the bathroom (nice to have a back up if mirror in bath is steamed up, etc.);The Hotel:Very popular and well-known bar and restaurant;Attractive, trendy public areas;Slow elevator.
"Too much Noise! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/20/2012 Vote
7. The rooms are small but stylish (the low beds are very European - not my favorite but not a huge drawback), the bathrooms are small but to be expected from an older hotel.
"The Public has it Right " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/7/2012 Vote
8. And to spend over $500 a night and get a very small bathroom that is anything but luxurious is kind of annoying.
"a cliche of Ian Schrager hotels of the past ..... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/2/2012 Vote
9. I get wanting to be minimal, but those pre-war tiny bathrooms with a plastic shower curtain, and skimpy generic looking toiletries made me long for my own bathroom back in ny.
"a cliche of Ian Schrager hotels of the past ..... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/2/2012 Vote
10. The closet (which is a walk in) and bathroom were very uncomfortable.
"Not for me " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/19/2012 Vote
