Having seen our friends' rooms, in the south wing of the hotel, I can tell you that while they were great rooms, if you want to go for the full Mauna Kea experience, opt for the rooms in the newer section of the hotel with the beach vice pool view, and separate walkin closet and huge bathroom with rainshower.

4. Our room, Golf Vista was spacious, with 2 large balconies, walk-in closet, roomy bathroom, and it was set up for our family of 3: one king bed and a comfy pull-in bed for a teenager.

5. The decor is casual and comfortable and not too fussy and the bathroom is fantastic, with a spectacular rain shower overlooking the bay.

9. This stay we were in a Deluxe Ocean View room with two private lanais one for the bedroom and the other was off of the bathroom which had an awesome seperate shower that you could look out and see the ocean.

10. HOWEVER, although the new rooms are clean, well appointed and have much better bathrooms (although with horror lighting), some idiot made the decision to remove the ceiling fans in everything but the ocean front rooms.
