1. Yes, they are on the steep side, but due to discounting by Prince Resorts they are lower than the rates charged by other first class Hawaii resorts such as the Four Seasons Maui or the Grand Wailea.
"Wonderful and Relaxing, But Relocate the Playing Field " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/1/2010 Vote
2. I also like the Hyatt in Poipu and the Princeville on Kaui if this helps you rate properties.
"Understated Elegance, Grace and Beauty " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/8/2010 Vote
3. They will certainly not pay First Class rates for Second Class service.
"Will never be 1st class with current owners and staff " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/31/2009 Vote
4. When I booked, I ended up going with the one local hawaii travel agency whose name came up here, and I got my room at the Mauna Kea for nearly 300 off the published room rate (oceanview - as they all are - in the Plumeria Beach Club, the building down near the beach at the Mauna Kea.
"The Best on the Big Island - but not cheap! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/12/2011 Vote
5. Other genius ideas from the accounting department include $15-a-day self parking at a satellite lot (valet is even higher) & obscene daily Wi Fi charges - when you are paying a top rate of $500 to $775 a day it's not really about the money, it's about feeling like you are being played - for a place that relies on repeat business with long term stays, these are not good ways to maintain good will.
"My soul is at peace here (but the bean-counters do their best to ruin it!) " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/9/2011 Vote
6. Renovated rooms are nice, and while we're glad to see the end of the dirty wicker furniture & big gray square Trinitrons, I'm not quite sure the upgrade merits a doubling of the room rates.
"My soul is at peace here (but the bean-counters do their best to ruin it!) " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/9/2011 Vote
7. At any rate within an hour we were escorted to our room by Yogi.
"Pure Hawaii! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/14/2011 Vote
8. The breakfast buffet was included in our room rate and was excellent.
"Quiet elegance " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/26/2011 Vote
9. I agree that charging $15 each for parking and wifi is excessive; I'd rather have them add it on to the room rate - at least you wouldn't feel as if you're being nickled and dimed to death.
"Quiet elegance " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/26/2011 Vote
10. This way, if people don't bring a car, they have a basic rate.
"Classy and lots to love on the beach " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/20/2011 Vote
