1. We asked to move upstairs as we were staying for over a week and it was much quieter but the A/C in our room smelled BAD.
2. There was a pretty nasty smell in the room as well.
3. However, my room smelled, shower mat was dirty.
4. My family & I were switched to rooms on 3 occasions; first room (kids suite)smelled like urine, second room's shower & bathroom door were broken/inoperable.
5. Room was nice and clean but had an excessive order of bleach and extremely stuff which made the bleach smell that much stronger.
6. The 2nd room was smaller, which was ok, but it did have that terrible bleach smell emanating out of the bathroom.
7. The room and hallways smelled a bit musty when we first arrived, but a quick airing out and all was fine.
8. I thought the room was pretty clean but smelled like an old sweaty attic.
9. The kids suite gives you some privacy and would have been a terrific deal, but for the run down appearance and smell of the rest of the room.
10. Housekeeping was great with keeping our room clean and smelling clean.
11. When we got back to the room, we just opened the door for an hour or so and the smell didn't bother us.

13. So here are the PROS:Staff met my needs again to an early check in a big plus after driving for 8 hours, room was clean no smells, I had the Kid suite and like the pictures the room was nice and comfortable, no problem so far I dont know about day time noise since I spended all day at Disney but at night no problems.
14. Room was clean (no odd smells), A/C was always on, plenty of towels etc. Pool a little small/busy but very well located/maintained - in any case, apparently there is free access to pool at adjoining Jolly Roger Motel.
15. Entering the room, a moldy smell came rushing at us and we felt wet from the humid rooms.
16. In regards to other reviews here, we never experienced any smell, we didn't have any problems with other guests being loud, and our room was very clean.
17. Some of the reviews I had read made me nervous, but the room did NOT smell bad - nor did the towels.
18. Also, if you read in some of the reviews about a smell in the hallway or rooms, this is because cleaning products are used to keep the place clean.
19. As some people have commented I too did smell something but only in the hallway - not inside the room.
20. As much as we enjoyed the bunk beds we could not stay at the Portofino Inn again due to the smell of the rooms and the hotel.
21. To us it smelled like someone had vomited in the rooms and they were doing their best to cover it up with the most powerful chemicals they could find.
22. We also mentioned the smell in the rooms but that was not even acknowledged by the front desk staff.
23. Well, we tried that only to find the next room smelled worse than the original.
24. The room did smell a bit musty and we had to crank the A/C down as low as it would go to get the room cooled off.
25. I walked in the the AC was not on, so the room had a smell to it.
