1. In fairness, we returned for dinner that night and the service was much, much better.

2. Although the beach is not the type you want to spend time sitting on, and the oil platforms in the distance are not terribly attractive (who knew they were all over the CA coast?), the resort itself really couldn't have been better.

7. It is much closer to State Street, closer to better restaurants, and is an overall much nicer experience especially considering the millions of dollars recently invested in it by Ty Warner.

8. I understand that it was a bit pricey, but with the current promotion, we were able to stay 3 nights for the price of 2 nights (better to book rooms over the phone), which helped lower the cost.
