1. We chose this hotel because it is dog-friendly -- but we were happy to find that it's also very people friendly.

2. A little checking revealed the Luxury Loews hotel on Canal ( a short historic streetcar ride away) for $125 per night including a $50 food voucher, so breakfast and one happy hour was free.

4. Finally, the bartenders at the Swizzle Stick Bar are unbelievably friendly and accommodating, helping me put together tables for an impromptu happy hour of 14 people, and they mix great cocktails.

9. The lounge and restaurants were overpriced and service was poor, yes I mentioned it was Mardi Gras but people were not even particularly friendly, more exhasperated or annoyed at working and not partying perhaps?I really have nothing positive to say, I was happy to be out of there.

10. I stayed for another week in New Orleans and was happy to be at another hotel that was infinitely more accomodating with free internet, resupplied amenities and infinitely friendlier service at less than half the cost and only a short distance away.
