1. I did use the hotel gym and it has cardio equipment, free and machine weights.

3. The lobby was comfortable and quite a popular place for guests to spend time taking advantage of the free wireless (rather than paying the rather exorbitant rates charged for in-room connections or use of the business center computers) and sampling drinks from the adjacent lounge.

6. A little checking revealed the Luxury Loews hotel on Canal ( a short historic streetcar ride away) for $125 per night including a $50 food voucher, so breakfast and one happy hour was free.
