Yes, there was some wear to carpets, wall paper, and such, but it is an older hotel, so that is to be expected, as lots of people pass through, many of whom are probably not as respectful of their surroundings as they would be in their own homes, and it is unrealistic for people to expect complete perfection in that respect unless you are the first guest in a new/remodeled room.
