1. The location is convenient for getting around SF--you're a few blocks' easy walk from the Muni bus/subway and Bart lines on Market Street, though the cable car line right out front (very helpful for getting up the steep hill on California Street) can involve long waits.

9. If one wants to stay at a hotel which is in a convenient location (and there are a lot of hotels which are in a convenient location like this Sheraton which is the hotel we moved to ) and where the stuff is a collection of snobs this is the hotel for you.
