1. The Hampton is generous with good-quality free toiletries and also provides a very good breakfast buffet (well worth noting in a town where inclusive breakfasts are rare).

6. When it comes to the noise - well, the hotel is on Watts Street and 6th Avenue, so there is a lot of traffic, and NYC is generally noisier then most european cities (hence I'm not sure if rooms on the backside of the hotel would be much quieter than our Watts Street facing room).

8. generally I am not a fan of chain hotels, preferring a more individual touch, but the Hampton Inn Soho provides exactly that.
