1. As stated by other reviewers, this Hampton Inn was affordable (by NYC standards), conveniently located on a small side street, and the staff were exceedingly friendly.

4. Other than staff performance, the location was perfect (3 blocks from the Canal street subway stop), a few blocks from high-end boutique shopping, and convenient on street parking on the weekend.

I had read reviews about cabs refusing to drop off outside before we went, so I advised the driver that it was on the road into the Holland Tunnel, so the driver dropped us off on Avenue of the Americas (I think), this was about 20 yards from the front of the hotel and couldn't have been more convenient or pleasant for us, or the driver.
