3. Great staff and a nice room,the grounds of this hotel are well kept and each room has an outside seating area, the pool and the jacuzzi, were, clean and nice to use, its out of the central area and a short drive into the bay, the restaurant had good food but was expensive.

8. Santa Barbara is an expensive place to stay, and for a price more reasonable than most SB options, I really thought the Pepper Tree was a good value.

9. You can walk across the street from the Pepper Tree to the Marmalade Cafe, its a bit more expensive and it's worth trying to see a menu in advance to be sure it has something for you.

10. Only 1 restaurant we could find within walking distance, a Hawaiian steak house, which had great food, but was very expensive- perhaps our fault for ordering the fish specials without checking the price.
