The room had been remodeled at some point but was getting shabby -- the carpet wasn`t fully cleaned, there was a huge dead insect behind the TV stand (may have been another roach, but I wasn`t about to verify), the tile grout in the shower was old and dirty, the fixtures old and/or coming apart, and the paint peeling on the windows.

10. We shouldn`t have fought so hard for the rooms--the elevators weren`t working; the rooms were tiny, dirty and in disrepair (peeling paint; stray black hair in the bathrooms (i`m blond); trash in the trashcan, cracked tiles).
