1. The walls are paper-thin, the doors do not fill the door frames and so every little sound in the hallway drifts into the rooms, the wallpaper is peeling, the carpet is worn, and the furniture has been oddly modified to fit the new TVs the hotel bought.

2. The service is indifferent, the front desk and other areas are understaffed, and many of the rooms are starting to show their age (bathrooms not up to par, places where wall paper is peeling).
