Big big plus the hotel was with in walking distance of Bourbon Street, Water walk the Casino and the French Market, but far enough away not to be
disturb
ed by constant noise, it was clean, room always smelled fresh, the carpet was slightly dingy.

The keys for hotel services were broken on the telephone (I assume the staff on the front desk do not want to be
disturb
ed by guests calling for help) & the in-room safety box did not work so we had to keep our cases locked at all times.
"Do NOT stay here. Worst hotel ever! Stolen $70! "

The streetcar passes in front of the hotel, might be an issue for a light sleeper, but did not
disturb
us, like I thought it might.

First night: We were evacuated by a horrible alarm in the middle of the night due to a fire on the 7th floor (someone fell asleep smoking they said), we finally got back in and went back to sleep to be woken up by housekeeping at 7:30 (there were not do not
disturb
signs available) - we declined their services, then the housekeeping supervisor called at 9am to make sure we really did not want housekeeping services, waking us up again.
