Here`s why:The Hotel:- excellent location - very close to Union Square and the trolley is a block away- very inviting lobby with a nice gas fireplace- wine tasting before dinner- good coffee in the morning; yes, there were only muffins, but they were good and fresh - didn`t have any staleness issues- concierges were very friendly and helpfulThe Room:- clean and well kept- yes, the fabric on the chair was older but it didn`t scream 'dirty' unless you really looked closely at areas where the fabric was protected (big deal - I think this would only be a problem if you planned on licking furniture.
