1. Being in the city it was noisy on Saturday night but that was to be expected.

2. Negatives: can be very noisy (street noise) as you have to open windows for coolness and with late arriving / early leaving guests.
"Quaint style "Old San Francisco" hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/3/2012 Vote
3. For a small extra (which was refunded later - for reasons I'll mention shortly) we were offered a room on the ground floor (#16), which had much more light but was frozen (the fireplace couldn't do the trick), and noisy - the sound of people walking over our heads on the wooden floors or the showers they took have woken us every day at 5AM.
"The good AND the bad " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/21/2012 Vote

6. The location was central - walking distance to Powell St, North Beach and Chinatown, as well as right off the tram line, yet without being too noisy or tourist trappy.

9. We were disappointed in our room experience; my husband had asked for a room that was away from the street noise, but as it turns out we were placed in a room very near Sutter Street, which had a bar on it that was very, very noisy when patrons stumbled onto the street in the wee hours of the morning.
"Nice spot, but with all this area has to offer, don't limit your search " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/18/2010 Vote
