1. The lighting in the lamps over the beds cannot be dimmed so if you wish to read you feel like you're under a spotlight; the bathroom lighting is difficult until you let the lamps warm up to reach their full brightness.

3. I would expect some noise from an older style hotel but found it difficult to sleep as most of the noise was later in the evening and particularly early in the morning when people were checking out.
