1. Two blocks away from Grand station makes it easily accessible by public transit and with the traffic in Chicago usually congested you are better off avoiding the cabs from the airport (35 - 40 $ one way to Midway ).

2. avoid it-not only are the rooms small but there is no where else in the hotel to go to give them room to play.

3. We had actually changed from a room next to the elevator to avoid hearing the elevator going up/ down.
