Ian Schraeger surely put his touch on the AW but luckily it's not as dark and eclectic as his recentish redo of the Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC -it's light, modern, beautifully decorated and with incredible service to boot.

I have also stayed at the AW many times and while it was always a place steeped in history, the rooms where what you'd expect from an iconic Chicago hotel-classy, dated, but fine.
