Our big disappointment was the hotel claimed not to have bed bugs and that is
unfortunate
ly not the case as I suffered from multiple bites in bed.

unfortunate
ly the hotel suffers from simply being a heritage building and as a result is very gloomy and dark.

unfortunate
ly time didn't allow a workout in the gym - did manage to visit it briefly on leaving as a way of freshening up before heading for the airport - just another little helpful service that typifies the style of this Hotel.

Upon arrival, which
unfortunate
ly coincided with the beginning of Superbowl XLIII, I dragged my roller bag up the four steep steps as no doorman was in sight.

Everthing else about the hotel was perfect, including the location (on a relatively quiet street but just a short walk from Times Square) and the staff were really nice, but
unfortunate
ly everthing was overshadowed by the noise.

We were moved to the 4th floor the following morning with minimal fuss, which solved the temperature problem but
