6. Had an amazing stay at the Strand, stayed in the retro building that was very secure and slept in room 405near the back , helped keep the noise down a bit, but i have been known to sleep thru a hurricane and a earthquake before so no real problems with noise.

9. Next day I asked for a heater and after that BOTH problems were solved: the heater made such a noise that I was no longer bothered by the noise from the street.

10. As far as amenities, the hotel was skimpy with bath linens and the bathroom had very poor water pressure (I normally wouldn't notice something like that so it really was a problem).
