The grounds are lovely, the beach is beautiful even though the rocks and the sometimes hard surf made it difficult/
dangerous
to swim.

We also walked to the resort next door (Hukilau Lanai) for the 'best meal on the island' and I have to agree it was great - cocktails
dangerous
ly strong though :) We also walked to Safeway for groceries for breakfast and lunch as there was a fridge and microwave in the rooms.

You can't get into the ocean right in front of the hotel, (
dangerous
drop-offs & currents) but Kapaa is a good central location to go either north or south where you have access to lots of great beaches.

This hotel is ocean front, but at least the time/season we were there - you can't really swim in the ocean - it's
dangerous
and all of these warning sighs are posted.
