For activities we did the nearby 1 hour horseback ride along the coast (preferred over the 2 hour since the coast is the focal point of both rides), the kayak/snorkel tour in Hana Bay (water was very rough and not very pleasant but our guide was talkative and experienced), spent an hour at Hamoa beach before getting rained out, and another 3 hour horseback ride at Maui Stables with breathtaking views only available by horse (the horses didn't get along very well and the terrain got kind of hairy so I'd only recommend this for people that have ridden horses before-the guides were terrific.
