"very good and very bad " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/12/2010 Vote
2. I didn't think it could be a major issue there, considering that a lot of resorts you go to bombard you with resort generated noise of bands and music and people screaming over PAs trying to 'keep you entertained.

3. At the cottages any noise from the community center is a non-issue, can't hear it at all morning, noon or night.

5. Although the property is beautiful and the spa very nice, there is an underlying current of 'issues' that you feel when you are there for a while or talk with 'non-native' Hawaiians.
"Really Overrated...please read... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/28/2010 Vote
6. What we don't understand is how could they be charging $1800 a nite for this suite with all these problems? The staff tried their best to help us but it seems to be more of a management issue.
"Be careful not to drink local water & don't stay in the Waikoloa suites " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/4/2009 Vote
7. Even though they give you free bottled water we didn't want to contribute to the local environmental issues, so we would drink water from the tap as much as possible.

8. Finally, as I've mentioned above, there is an issue with mosquitoes in the area.
"Could be so much better " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/13/2009 Vote
9. The semi-famous 'red sand beach' is right below their property, but they officially discourage resort guests from going there because of property access issues and, if asked, will refuse to tell you how to get there (see earlier comments about relations with the locals, as well as their lawyers I suppose).
"Great visit, with only trivial regrets " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/15/2008 Vote
10. That leads to my next issue, I was there for four nights, other than Ka'uiki, the Paniolo Lounge (bar area) and The Hana Ranch (only open for lunch), they are all owned and operated by the Hana-Maui.
"Great hotel, had high expectations to live up to. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/15/2008 Vote
