It is an old building though, so you do get a hint of that aged musty
smell
.

My guess was that some or all of their rooms were formerly smoking rooms and that they routinely turned on the perfume/incense machine to hide the
smell
of cigarette smoke.

Anyway I found the replacement room indeed had a window that I could open, so I was able to clear the air (it did
smell
a lot like cigarette smoke after the perfume
smell
was removed).

When I opened the door and walked in, I was struck by the very strong
smell
of some kind of perfume or incense.

There was a small globe on the desk with a reservoir of scent on the top of it and it was plugged into the wall power outlet so that the liquid could was heated up to spread the
smell
.

Our room
smell
ed funny- we wondered if the bottle of febreze in the room was to cover up a
smell
? When we tried to go to the pool/ hot tub, we were told they were out of towels and had to wait for someone to bring some out.

2) we were on 3rd floor and there was an odd
smell
, sort of like onions, lingering in the hallway during out entire 3 night stay.

Our room did have a smoke
smell
, but an open window solved that, and I am picky.

The room itself was clean but
smell
ed mildewy, which I'm guessing is the result of lack of adequate bathroom ventilation.

The
smell
of the smoke seemed to really linger in the shower curtain, but I realize this is difficult to get rid of and it could have been some time since it happened.
