So I guess I made a huge
mistake
booking this hotel through Priceline, because while it was a good rate they made me stay in the basement.

Is this how they are making up lost revenues during the economic downturn? How many others have been falsely charged but weren't dilligent enough to check their credit card statements and follow up? It could be an honest
mistake
, but the woman I spoke to from accounting was extremely defensive and told me I'd be reimbursed and then hung up on me before I could even get a word in.

Our room was on the first floor (as others have noted, this is the basement) and it was very nicely laid out and very clean + had great light, but there was no
mistak
ing that it was the lowest level of a building - there was some humidity/dankness.
