8. Across the street from the Smithsonian Portrait Museum and caddycorner to the Verizon Center is hard to beat.

9. Since we had a car we also did a lot of sightseeing we hadn't done before such as the pentagon, the air and space museum in virginia near dulles airport and the anacostia museum/frederick douglass house so there was no point in paying for hotel parking since we were hardly there.
