9. A young and enthusiastic staff at this slightly offbeat Kimpton Hotel, right by Dupont Circle, made this into a very pleasant stay; however don't be surprised if the same guy who checks you in at the front counter also turns out to be the car valet, room service waiter and all-around concierge.
