1. This is now one of my top hotels in the world - great atmosphere, fantastic concierge service, beautiful room with spectacular views of the Washington monument and the Treasury building, ideal location - 3 minutes walk to the White House and 5 minutes to the Smithsonian.

6. The concierge service in particular is good for booking restaurants (advance booking is recommended!), site seeing info, flight check in etc. The rooms are clean and very spacious although perhaps slightly old fashioned - but that's in line with the historic building.
