1. They failed to tell us that it is actually a large window that is made to look like a balcony - it opens, but that is it - hubby paid extra for this.

2. Our room, a deluxe double, was pleasant and bright with French doors to an abbreviated balcony bringing in lots of light and an openable, small window allowing in more of the fresh Santa Barbara air.

The only reasons for not giving this place a perfect 10 are small, but here they are: No fan in the bathroom, tiny balcony (at least for our room) that is more for decoration (it was standing room only for 1 person), no in-hotel spa (but tons of them a few minutes away) and no fireplaces offered in the rooms.
