Santa Barbara is a pricey place for visitors - and the major chains have not landed in force yet - so we were pleased to find the Pepper Tree Inn available for a college visit - at $184 for a queen and a sofa bed - older property, but some surprises - Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, fruit and coffee in the lobby, nice clean sheets and comfortable bed.
