1. If you have a car, you might get a better rate without high parking fees a little away from downtown.

2. )Decent rate-though probably not worth itSomewhat friendly staffCafeteria in hotelHeated swimming poolBEWARE:Very, very small crammed rooms and thin wallsOverpriced cafeteria$17 parking per night-not includedOne way street next to hotel-made for interesting drivingNo partying policy waiver of $100-it wasn't charged and we didn't party, but it was interesting that they make you sign thisStingy with conditioner-we had to ask in order to get conditioner as our room only had shampoo and lotionNo spa.

3. I have to admit that I was reticent to stay at here at first because in my experience HI's are inconsistent at best, however, the rate offered was too good to turn down.

6. I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Downtown last weekend, and here are my reviewsPro- Renovated rooms (it is clear that rooms are renovated, as the bathrooms are very modern, beds are comfortable, and even plasma TV!)- Lots of towels in bathroom- Very modern looking bathroom- Good service- Clean decor- Cheap rates- Free internetCons- Off-beat location: it is quite far away from the heart of SD such as the gaslamp district etc- Very tiny lobby and not very modern- Low ceiling heightThat is pretty much it - It is a relatively modern Holiday Inn that was renovated - so don't be deterred by TripAdvisor rating.
"Loved the renovated rooms " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/7/2009 Vote

9. The room rate was relatively reasonable since San Diego is an expensive city.
"Holiday Inn - Downtown is an anomaly " Read full review on YahooTravel   8/3/2008 Vote
10. They can't compete with the HI Expresses that offer you a room at a lower rate that includes breakfast.
