1. I would highly recommend taking the coaster train up the coast for beautiful sights at a low price.

2. One other downside would be you do hear a lot of sirens in the area throughout the night, I would recommend ear plugs, I used them and didnt have a problem, my husband however was awake alot because of it.

3. It is only about a block from gaslamp quarter which is great, but some of the prices of food around the location is a little pricey, small portions, and not great on taste (no fault of the Westin though) I would recommend Sammy's Woodstone pizza pretty good pizza, but surprisingly great Salmon.
