4. granted, we checked out late (3:30pm instead of the usual 11:30 am check out time) but come on, it's fat tuesday, mardi gras day, do you really expect a ton of people to be checking into the hotel as mardi gras is ending?they tried to charge me for a full extra night's stay for the late check out (200 bucks!) so i politely told them i was happy to pay a half day rate (that's fair).

9. My friend and I arrived at 11:00 a.m. (check-in is 3:00 p.m.) and they were able to give us a room right away and even upgraded us to a suite (for our same very good rate of $109 a night).

10. Granted this is not an expensive hotel, but I have stayed at the nearby Nola chain hotels with even cheaper room rates and found them to be much nicer in appearance and quality.
